Garden Hours Grounds and Display Gardens Visitor Center & Conservatory
Café Trumps at the Garden Garden Gift Shop Please note that the Visitor Center & Conservatory, Café and Gift Shop are closed on Mondays. For a list of UGA holidays, please visit this page. Accessibility The State Botanical
Garden makes every effort to ensure the accessibility of all programs
and buildings. Most gardens and collections and all facilities are handicap
accessible, however, the nature of the facility prevents portions of the
trails and natural areas from being completely accessible to all visitors.
Walking, wheelchair or electric scooter (see below) are the primary ways
in which to experience the Visitor Center & Conservatory and nearby gardens.
There are no shuttles, trams or buses operating within the Garden.
There is reserved handicapped parking in the Callaway Building parking lot, main parking lot, across from the Garden Club building and near the Chapel entrance. Non-motorized wheelchairs and a single-person electric scooter are available free-of-charge at the Information Desk in the Visitor Center, on a first-come/first-served basis (requires a release form to be signed). The scooter is not available for outdoor use during inclement weather or when the temperature is below 36°F.
Restrooms and drinking fountains are wheelchair accessible. The café, located on the lower level of the Visitor Center & Conservatory, is wheelchair accessible by ramp but there is no elevator available. The lower level of the Day Chapel and the Garden Club of Georgia Headquarters are accessible by elevator, and the upper level of the Callaway Building by ramp.
It takes approximately two hours to walk through the Visitor Center & Conservatory and surrounding gardens. There are hard surface paths in the International Garden, Heritage Garden and Shade Garden, the latter complete with handrails. To hike the approximate 5 miles of nature trails adds an additional 2 to 3 hours. The trails are not accessible by wheelchair or electric scooter and may be challenging for people with disabilities.
Service dogs providing assistance for visitors with disabilities are
permitted at The State Botanical Garden of Georgia. If you are a person
with a disability, please notify the Garden in advance (preferably 48
hours) if you require auxiliary aids, services, or other accommodations.
