Dr. William Finlay

(Curriculum Vitae) Dr. William Finlay, Professor of Sociology, serves as Head of the Department. He has been at the University of Georgia since 1988 and received a Ph.D. in Sociology from Northwestern University in 1983. Prior to coming to the University of Georgia, he taught at the University of Iowa. Dr. Finlay's specialty areas include the workplace, organizations, and economic sociology. His current research, conducted in collaboration with Jim Coverdill, focuses on the impact of changing work hours on surgical faculty and residents.
