Daniel Shank
(Curriculum
Vitae) Mr. Daniel B. Shank received a B.A. in computer science from Harding University in 2003 and two masters from the University of Georgia: an M.S. in artificial intelligence in 2006 and an M.A. in sociology in 2008. His sociology thesis addressed the differences in affect and justice attributed to human and computer actors after interaction. For this thesis he conducted a social exchange experiment in the Laboratory for the Study of Social Interaction (LaSSI) where he is currently the Laboratory Manager.
His research interests include social psychology, group processes, emotions, justice, human-computer interaction, and mathematical sociology. Mr. Shank specifically studies the behavioral, affective, emotional, and justice differences between human-technology and human-human interactions, and his dissertation’s working title is “Social Intelligent Technology: Interaction and Identity.”
