Overnight and Extended Guests
Overnight visitors staying at the Georgia Center Hotel should use the South Campus Parking Deck located next to the Georgia Center. Such visitors are welcome to contact the Department of Sociology to arrange for transportation to Baldwin Hall (.pdf) or reference one of several campus maps.
Directions and Day Visitor Parking
From Atlanta (including Hartsfield International Airport):
Take I-85 North to Exit 106, Highway 316 to Athens.
Follow Highway 316 to its end (passing Home Depot
on your right) and continue straight on Epps Bridge
Parkway until it merges into the Atlanta Highway.
Follow the Atlanta Highway (which becomes Broad
Street) into downtown Athens and take a right onto
S. Jackson Street (after the UGA Arches). The Department
of Sociology is located near the corner of S. Jackson
Street and Baldwin Street in Baldwin
Hall (.pdf) at 355 S. Jackson Street on the
left side of the street. Day visitors are encouraged
to park in the North
Campus Deck (.pdf) located on S. Jackson Street
before Baldwin Hall. This lot conveniently accepts
cash or checks for hourly parking.
From Atlanta on Highway 78:
Follow Highway 78 straight into Athens as it becomes
the Atlanta Highway. Follow the Atlanta Highway
(which becomes Broad Street) into downtown Athens
and take a right onto S. Jackson Street (after
the UGA Arches). The Department of Sociology is
located near the corner of S. Jackson Street and
Baldwin Street in Baldwin
Hall (.pdf) at 355 S. Jackson Street on the
left side of the street. Day visitors are encouraged
to park in the North

From the North:
Take I-85 South to Exit 149, US 441 in Commerce, Georgia. Turn left onto US 441 and travel approximately 20 miles. As you approach Athens you will drive under the Athens Perimeter (Loop 10) and continue into Athens. At the first traffic signal, turn right onto College Avenue and follow College Avenue until it ends at Broad Street in downtown Athens. Turn left onto Broad Street and then right onto Jackson Street. The Department of Sociology is located near the corner of Jackson Street and Baldwin Street in Baldwin Hall (355 S. Jackson Street) on the left side of the street. Day visitors to the Department of Sociology are encouraged to park in the North Campus Parking Deck (N06) located on Jackson Street before Baldwin Hall. This lot conveniently accepts cash or checks for hourly parking.
From the South (US 441 or Georgia 15):
Take US 441 North or Georgia 15 North through Watkinsville, Georgia to Athens. Turn right onto Loop 10 (Athens Perimeter). Take the second exit, Exit 7, College Station Road. Turn left onto College Station Road and take a right onto East Campus Road. Turn left onto Baldwin Street and an immediate right onto Jackson Street. The Department of Sociology is located near the corner of Jackson Street and Baldwin Street in Baldwin Hall (355 S. Jackson Street) on the right side of the street. Day visitors to the Department of Sociology are encouraged to park in the North Campus Parking Deck (N06) located on Jackson Street traveling past Baldwin Hall. From the East (Augusta):
Take I-20 West to Exit 172 in Thomson, Georgia. Turn right onto US 78. Follow US 78 into downtown Athens (Broad Street). Take a left onto Jackson Street. The Department of Sociology is located near the corner of Jackson Street and Baldwin Street in Baldwin Hall (355 S. Jackson Street) on the left side of the street. Day visitors to the Department of Sociology are encouraged to park in the North Campus Parking Deck (N06) located on Jackson Street before Baldwin Hall. From US 129 (Jefferson/Gainesville):
Cross over the Athens Perimeter (Loop 10) and continue into downtown Athens. At the fifth traffic signal turn right onto Milledge Avenue. Continue on Milledge Avenue through two traffic signals. At the third traffic signal (Broad Street) turn left and continue straight to take a right onto Jackson Street. The Department of Sociology is located near the corner of Jackson Street and Baldwin Street in Baldwin Hall (355 S. Jackson Street) on the left side of the street. Day visitors to the Department of Sociology are encouraged to park in the North Campus Parking Deck (N06) located on Jackson Street before Baldwin Hall.
