Public Service and Outreach
The Office of International Public Service and Outreach (IPSO)
encourages a broader vision and understanding of the increasingly
interdependent world and global economy. The office works to
advance the university’s international agenda, with particular
attention to research and outreach programs. IPSO provides a
link between international research and service programs and
projects and the university’s academic programs. |
Psychology
Clinic
The Psychology Clinic is an independent community mental
health facility operated by the clinical training program
of the Department of Psychology at the University of Georgia.
The clinic operates with the objectives of providing specialized
psychological services to the community as well as serving
as a training facility for the clinical psychology program.

River
Basin Science and Policy Center
The River Basin Science and Policy Center serves to unite the
vast and varied water-related research and outreach expertise
of the University of Georgia to support the development of sound
water resource policies at the local, state, national, and international
levels. |
State
Botanical Garden of Georgia
The State Botanical Garden of Georgia is a 313-acre preserve
set aside by UGA to foster appreciation, understanding, and
stewardship of plants and nature through collections and displays,
horticultural gardens, educational programs, and research. |
School
of Environmental Design
The mission of the Public Service and Outreach (PS&O) Office
of the School of Environmental Design (SED) is to provide service
learning experience for graduate students in landscape architecture
and historic preservation. By utilizing a mix of professional
and student staff members, towns throughout Georgia have the
opportunity to obtain professional design services from this
office. These communities are provided high quality design services
they could not otherwise afford and students receive practical
hands on experience, a situation that benefits everyone involved. |
School
of Forest Resources Public Service and Outreach
The Daniel B. School of Forestry and Natural Resources, established
in 1906, is the oldest program in the South that provides forest
resources service and outreach, instruction, and research programs.
Programs in forestry, wildlife, fisheries, and water resources
are directed to enhance the use and value of Georgia’s

Selig Center for Economic
Growth
The Simon S. Selig Jr. Center for Economic Growth serves the
state by issuing economic forecasts, conducting applied economic
research, and publishing research findings and economic statistics.
The Selig Center is a major source of information for national,
regional, state, and local media. The center also provides information
to business leaders, government agencies, and the general public
and is an official cooperating agency with the U.S. Bureau of
Economic Analysis and the Construction Statistics Division,
U.S. Bureau of the Census. Selig Center faculty serve as economic
and financial advisers to many public and private organizations.

Small
Business Development Center
The Business Outreach Services/Small Business Development Center
provides business and economic development assistance through
the Georgia SBDC Network of 19 offices. It is comprised of Business
Expansion Support Services, Economic Development Services, Minority
Business Development, and the Small Business Development Center. |
Southern
Region Extension Forestry
The Southern Region Extension Forestry enables Georgians to
make informed decisions concerning the management, enhancement,
and enjoyment of their forest resources through research-based
information and education. |
Speech and Hearing Clinic
The Speech and Hearing Clinic is a self-supporting clinic that
serves individuals from infancy to geriatrics and provides evaluation
and/or intervention for disorders of hearing, disorders of speech,
and delay or disorders of language. The clinic strives to provide
services that are on the forefront of current practice within
the field of communication sciences and disorders and that involve
the client or client’s caregiver in all aspects of decision-making
in respect to their treatment. |

State
Climatologist, Office of the
The Georgia State Climatology Office is housed in the
University of Georgia, within the Biological and Agricultural
Engineering Department (BAE). The purpose of the office is
to provide climate information to all interested users of
historic or long-term weather data, to monitor current climate
conditions around the state, and to conduct research into
topics related to Georgia’s weather and climate.

Survey Research Center
The Survey Research Center at the University of Georgia
exists to serve the research , teaching, and service needs
of the university and of the larger community. The center’s
activities include the execution of surveys for university
faculty and students, public agencies, private foundations,
and other interested groups; training and instruction in survey
methods; consultation on all phases of survey research; assistance
with analysis of survey data; facilitation of the study of
regional, state, and local problems; and development of a
data archive for use in teaching and research.

Ultrastructural Research, Center for
The Center for Ultrastructural Research is one of
the premier electron microscope laboratories in the southeastern
United States. The Center is dedicated to providing the University
of Georgia system and the scientific community-at-large with
expertise in the use and application of light and electron
optical methods to a wide variety of problems. Established
in 1969 through a Center of Excellence grant from the National
Science Foundation, the Center has expanded its scope and services
within and outside the university system to not only serve
the biological or biomedical sciences but a diversity of disciplines
such as botany, geology, chemistry, textiles, archaeology,
agriculture and materials analysis. |
Veterinary
Medical Diagnostic and Investigational Laboratories
The mission of the two veterinary diagnostic laboratories in
Georgia is to provide accurate, expeditious, and comprehensive
diagnostic service for Georgia veterinarians and animal owners.
The Georgia Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories provide diagnostic
consultation and assistance to practicing veterinarians and
animal owners in diagnosing diseases in livestock and pets.
These diagnostic services also include disease surveillance
plus an educational outreach to veterinarians and the animal
industry, including pet owners in Georgia. A wide range of diagnostic
tests are performed daily by the two full service laboratories
in support of veterinarians in Georgia. |
