Outreach Services
In cooperation with the public and private sectors, Information
Technology Outreach Services helps the University System, nonprofit
groups, and state, local, and national governments expand and
improve their use of information technology in the public interest. |
Institute
for Nonprofit Organizations
The institute provides an interdisciplinary group of graduate
teaching, research, and service programs at UGA that focus on
improving the leadership and effectiveness of nonprofit organizations. |
Institute of Ecology
The Institute of Ecology provides expertise to the citizens
of Georgia in the development of policies and practices to protect
natural resources, which are critical to the state’s economic
well-being. The institute’s faculty, staff, and graduate
students provide research and policy assistance to government
agencies, community groups, and citizens. Most of the institute’s
efforts focus on Georgia's land use, biodiversity, water and
air quality, but its faculty, staff, and students also work
on regional, national and international problems. |
Institute of Higher Education
The service activities of the institute reflect the University
of Georgia’s commitment to the continuing advancement
of higher education. Cooperative arrangements with other institutions
are concerned with program and staff development, administrative
and instructional improvement, and institutional effectiveness.

Institute on Human Development
and Disability
The Institute on Human Development and Disability: Center for
Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research,
and Service works with others to create opportunities that will
improve the quality of life for people with disabilities and
their families. The IHDD advances the understanding of the abilities
of all people through education, research, and public service.

Institute
for Leadership Advancement
The Institute for Leadership Advancement (ILA) is a multidisciplinary
academic organization housed in the Terry College of Business.
Its purpose is to create and promote cutting-edge knowledge
about leadership and use this knowledge to develop leaders who
enhance the performance of their organizations and communities.
Through our five programs, the Institute provides a variety
of opportunities for undergraduate students, graduate students,
executives, and business organizations. |
The Fanning Institute
Incorporating units that historically focused on community development, economic development, and leadership development, the Fanning Institute works in the common ground of these traditional fields, applying knowledge and experience to address complex problems facing communities and society. Fanning faculty and staff provide rich and customized approaches for sustainable transformations, linking the needs of people and communities with the expertise, research, and resources of UGA. |

Learning Disabilities Center
The Learning Disabilities Center has three components:
service, evaluation (through the Regents Center for Learning
Disorders) and research/training. The LDC is recognized for
its innovative research and best practices in evaluation and
service.

Legal Aid and Defender Clinic
The Legal Aid Clinic has its roots in a student organization
founded more than 30 years ago. That organization--the local
branch of the Legal Aid and Defender Society--was dedicated
to offering legal assistance to poor people who had little or
no access to attorneys. |
Marine
Extension Service
The Marine Extension Service works to increase the efficiency
of existing marine industries, to identify new industries
that do not harm the environment, and to increase public awareness
and understanding of coastal ecosystems.

McPhaul
Children’s Center
The McPhaul Children’s Center programs provide developmentally
appropriate programs on a half-day basis for both university
and community families with children 6 months to 5 years of
age;; a full day program for university affiliated families
with children 3 to 5 years old; and two Head Start programs
for children 3 to 5 years old. Children with special needs
are provided mainstreamed classroom experience.

Family
Solutions
Family Solutions is a not-for-profit organization intended to
help juvenile offenders, truant students, and other at-risk
youth and their families work in groups to find solutions that
will assist them in preventing repeat juvenile offenses and
truancy, achieving personal and family well being, and strengthening
ties with other families and the community. |
| Multicultural Services and Programs
The Office of Multicultural Services and Programs is a place where the experiences of people of color can be explored and celebrated. Drafted on the ideals of two UGA students, Multicultural Services and Programs (MSP) first opened its doors in September of 1989. MSP’s mission is to enhance the university’s environment by promoting student leadership and academic achievement, to celebrate the contribution and heritage of UGA’s diverse population, and to encourage the full participation of all students, faculty, and staff. MSP is a department of Intercultural Affairs within the Division of Student Affairs.

| Museum
of Natural History
The Georgia Museum of Natural History collects and preserves
evidence of the cultural and natural heritage of the state
of Georgia and beyond; encourages scholarship and service
relating to the collections; fosters stewardship of the heritage
of the people of Georgia; and instructs people in their cultural
and natural heritage.
