for Food Safety and Quality Enhancement
Headquartered on the Griffin campus, the Center for Food Safety
and Quality Enhancement (CFS) is associated with the UGA College
of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. CFS faculty conduct
research in food safety that benefits the food industry and
consumers. Through its programs, CFS has developed strong collaborative
ties with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,
the USDA Russell Research Center, and other research groups
on the Athens campus. |

Georgia 2000 provides data from the 2000 census, county vital
statistics, economic development agencies, school districts
and many more sources for Georgia and the Southeast. |
Georgia Plant Conservation
Alliance
The mission of the Georgia Plant Conservation Alliance is to
study and preserve Georgia’s flora through multidisciplinary
research, education, and advocacy; to facilitate the recovery
of rare, threatened, and endangered plants of Georgia and the
southeast United States through collaborative efforts in the
state; and to communicate the importance of preserving biodiversity
worldwide. |
Gerontology
Center
The University of Georgia Gerontology Center is the hub for
coordinating and conducting UGA’s education, research,
and outreach services associated with the study of aging and
the aged. |
GLOBIS--The
Center for the Study of Global Issues
The Center for the Study of Global Issues (GLOBIS) at the University
of Georgia fosters educational and research activities focused
on economic, political, and socio-cultural change and development
at the global level. |
Ideas for Creative Exploration
Ideas for Creative Exploration (ICE) promotes innovative, multidisciplinary
creative projects and advanced research in the arts. ICE is
a catalyst for collaborative studio work and critical discourse
that brings together artists, scholars and students in the arts
and other disciplines across campus. The ICE structure supports
the creative use of technology from both a practical and theoretical
perspective and moves the results of those explorations into
the world in the form of publications, performances and exhibitions. |

of Higher Education
The Institute of Higher Education is an instructional, service,
and research unit of the University of Georgia that cooperates
with other agencies and institutions in the development of higher
education; assists in the professional preparation of administrative,
faculty, and staff personnel; and studies the functional processes
of colleges, universities, and statewide systems. |

on Human Development and Disability
IHDD works with others to create opportunities that will improve
the quality of life for people with disabilities and their families.
IHDD advances the understanding of the abilities of all people
through education, research, and public service. |
International Center for Democratic Governance
ICDG seeks to build the governance capacity of emerging democracies,
emphasizing the development of participatory, responsive, transparent,
and efficient governments. It aims to strengthen the management
of public organizations to create open governments characterized
by reliance on the rule of law and an active, educated citizenry.
ICDG is committed to sustainable government reforms that have
long-term impact and create systemic change. |
Center for Invasive Species & Ecosystem Health
The Center for Invasive Species & Ecosystem Health serves a lead role in development, consolidation and dissemination of information and programs focused on invasive species, forest health, natural resource and agricultural management through technology development, program implementation, training, applied research and public awareness. The Forestry Images, IPMImages and Invasive.org image archives created by Center's Bugwood Network include 75,000 images from 1,300 photographers. |
Cox Center for International Mass Communication Training and
Research
The Cox Center is a unit of the Henry W. Grady College of Journalism
and Mass Communication. The center has conducted more than 125
training programs involving journalists from countries all over
the world, published more than 15 research and technical reports,
and conducted research on a variety of topics related to the
practice of journalism around the world. |

International Trade and Security
By researching political, economic, and security issues related
to international trade and technology transfer and by developing
enlightened trade and security policies, the Center for International
Trade and Security fulfills its mission of promoting greater
understanding and peaceful cooperation among nations. |

for Latin American and Caribbean Studies
CLACS is a universitywide center that catalyses initiatives
from arts and sciences, agricultural and environmental sciences,
business, education, veterinary medicine, law, social work,
pharmacy, journalism, forest resources, and family and consumer
sciences. In coordination with the Office of International Development,
there is a long history of collaborative programs with regional
institutions and others in almost every Latin American country. |
Fanning Institute for
Leadership
As a unit within the Office of the Vice President for Public
Service and Outreach, the J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership
is dedicated to developing statewide what many believe to be
the single most important ingredient for positive change in
the state of Georgia: leadership. By enabling Georgia citizens
to realize their full leadership potential and recognize their
responsibility as community, youth, and organizational leaders,
the Fanning Institute prepares Georgians to identify, address,
and meet current and future challenges. |
Marine
Institute at Sapelo Island
The Marine Institute has been a center of nearshore ecological
and geological research since its inception. The main goals
of the research conducted at the Marine Institute are to understand
the process that affect the health of the salt marshes and coastline
and to identify the role of the nearshore environment in the
maintenance of the coastal resources. |
McPhaul Child
and Family Development Center
The McPhaul Child and Family Development Center provides graduate
students and faculty with opportunities for observational, clinical,
and research experiences with couples, parents, infants, and
children in child care, nursery school, pre-kindergarten, and
Head Start programs. The center also has facilities for marriage
and family therapy and areas for small group research by graduate
students and faculty. |
