Franklin College Chamber Music Series

EBENE QUARTET
Celebrating its 32nd season, the Franklin College Chamber Music Series brings the very best chamber music and musicians to the UGA Campus. Dr. William Jackson Payne, former Dean of the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, inaugurated the series in order to make a significant contribution to the cultural life of the University and the Athens communities through the performing arts. This coming season you can enjoy these superb instrumentalists and ensembles as they continue the tradition of fine chamber music performances.

All performances are presented free of charge in Hodgson Concert Hall, UGA Performing Arts Center.

BEETHOVEN CYCLE
The 16 string quartets of Ludwig van Beethoven provide a complete picture of this master composer's development over the course of his creative life. The quartets also represent some of the greatest music ever written. Beginning this season and through the following two seasons, we will present the complete Beethoven String Quartets in six concerts, two each year, featuring three ensembles from North America and three from Europe. The visiting string quartets will also give master classes at the UGA Hugh Hodgson School of Music. This is an exceptional journey for any audience.

Presented in association with Melvin Kaplan Incorporated.
