A recent ribbon-cutting ceremony at a new technology-focused high school in Barrow County ushered in the next phase of a partnership between the University of Georgia and the Barrow County School System.

Andrew Izsák, a professor in the College of Education, conducts research on the mathematical reasoning of middle grades teachers and has developed several innovative courses for pre-service teachers, like one that takes them to the UGA physical plant to see Euclidean geometry applied to sheet metal work.READ MORE
Experience 'Science at the Stadium'
Samantha Joye, a professor of marine science in UGA's Franklin College of Arts and Science, and members of the Ecosystem Impacts of Oil and Gas Inputs to the Gulf team will hold Science at the Stadium Sept. 20 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature an educational video about the Gulf of Mexico and a water tank with small remotely operated vehicles that can be operated by children or young adults. The event will be held on the lawn of the physics building, at the southeast corner of Sanford Drive and Cedar Street.
Bulldogs to host Troy
The UGA Bullldogs will host Troy University Sept. 20 at noon in Sanford Stadium. The SEC Network will televise the game.
Garrison Keillor performance postponed
Garrison Keillor's Sept. 24 appearance in Hodgson Concert Hall at the University of Georgia has been postponed due to surgery. Negotiations are under way with Keillor's management to reschedule the performance as soon as he recuperates from the medical procedure. Tickets purchased for Sept. 24 will be good for the rescheduled performance.
