How ’bout this dog? - Around the Arch
September 2008 Issue
UGA researchers have developed a new, virus-resistant pumpkin called the Orange Bulldog from seeds that were collected in remote areas of Brazil and later hybridized. In tests the Orange Bulldog has consistently produced greater yields than conventional pumpkins, which often succumb to disease before flowering. Sorry, but you can’t take this dog home with you yet—Orange Bulldog seeds are sold out for 2008. For more information, visit www.orangebulldogpumpkin.uga.edu.
