Greek girls kick off green challenge - Around the Arch
June 2012 Issue
UGA sororities kicked off their first Sorority Green Cup Challenge this spring in an effort to reduce energy, water and waste and to increase recycling. The challenge among the 12 Panhellenic sororities and their houses is an outgrowth of UGA residence halls’ annual Green Cup Challenge held each fall. To determine the winner of the Sorority Green Cup, the total energy and water usage from the month will be compared to each sorority’s average consumption for the past three years. The sorority that shows the most improvement will win the competition. Learn more about sustainability initiatives on the UGA campus at www. sustainability.uga.edu.
