Former prof dies - Class Notes Extras
September 2008 Issue
Col. Warren A. Thrasher (BSC ’40, MBA ’67), UGA professor from 1963 to 1984, died June 8 in Athens at the age of 94. A professor of military science during his initial four years, he moved to the Terry College of Business after retiring from the military. During his 27-year military career, he received awards including the Bronze Star Medal for Valor, the Purple Heart and the Legion of Merit. While a professor at UGA, the Army ROTC program doubled enrollment and tripled officer production. Thrasher is survived by his wife, Caroline Burson Thrasher (BSHE ’40), and four children, six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
