UGA’s Donna Gallaher received the Wise Owl Award from the Georgia Forestry Association for her years of service and contributions to the forestry community. Gallaher is only the second woman to be awarded the honor. She is coordinator for the Georgia Sustainable Forestry Initiative and is based in the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. Gallaher coordinates for GSFI’s Implementation Committee, which also was recognized with the Evergreen Award. Since 1995, GSFI has worked to promote and improve sustainable forestry across the state.
