Flying debris

UGA’s Marine Extension Service and the Georgia Sea Grant will begin educating children in Georgia about the sources and effects of marine debris. Through the program, called Reading Between the Lines, marine specialists will visit Georgia schools and libraries to read “The Flying Debris,” a story about sea animals that live on an island of trash. Readings are scheduled for Athens-Clarke County as well as counties along Georgia’s coast. The program is funded by the Southeast Atlantic Marine Debris Initiative.
