WUGA radio in October hosted a national broadcast of “Marketplace,” produced by American Public Media, which reaches about 9.3 million listeners on 500 radio stations each week. APM chose Athens so that it could play on the name of the city to showcase how the Greek debt crisis will affect the U.S. economy.

“Marketplace” host Kai Ryssdal broadcast the show live from the WUGA studios in the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. His interviews included a segment with William Lastrapes, an economics professor in the Terry College of Business.

“Marketplace” airs Mondays through Fridays from 6:30 to 7 p.m. on WUGA, 91.7 and 97.9 FM.
