UGA grad is first female Israeli Arab associate prof
A UGA College of Education alumna has become the first Israeli Arab woman to be appointed associate professor at an Israeli research university. Fadia Nasser-Abu Alhija, who is head of the department of curriculum planning and instruction at Tel Aviv University’s School of Education, was appointed last month. She earned a Ph.D. in 1997 in educational psychology with a concentration in research, evaluation, measurement and statistical methods. Prior to joining the university, Akhija taught high school in the Israeli Arab town of Tira.
