Kite to the Moon
Kite to the Moon was formed in 2007 in Athens, Ga., playing their first gig at the Athens Human Rights Festival on May 5th of that year, making the band a Taurus, astrologically speaking. The band is made up of Timi Conley (vocals and guitar), Jay Rodgers (bass and vocals) and Andrew Hanmer (drums and vocals). Timi has a 19-year performance history with Fuzzy Sprouts, Aqualove, Trubblegum, Abbey Road Live, Pigs on the Wing Pink Floyd Tribute and Ziggy Stardust (the Bowie Tribute). Jay is the head engineer at Full Moon Studio and has played in bands including For Sale, Charlie Garrett Band and Nate Nelson Band. Andrew Hanmer’s drumming has landed him in national touring acts that have taken him to places as far reaching as the Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. He played in the Charlie Mars Band and regularly tours with Timi in Abbey Road Live. Kite to the Moon is known for spectacular stage shows, including wild costuming, video and aerial dancers. The band has several videos, including one for “Something For My Baby,” at www.youtube.com/shurfynepro.
