UGA and the government of Liberia have signed an agreement to work together to expand government and agriculture assistance programs in the African country. The basis for the agreement came from meetings in Monrovia between UGA President Michael F. Adams and Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and senior officials from each side. UGA has provided public sector training in Liberia through its Carl Vinson Institute of Government since 2007. Together, CVIOG and the Liberian officials have worked directly with Liberia’s National Legislature on public finance training for members of the legislature.
