Some UGA alumni ask me “what does an Alumni Association membership do for me?”

We have several important services. Through a collaborative effort with the UGA Career Center, we now have a career services director housed in the Atlanta Alumni Center, which allows us to provide assistance to graduates who are looking for jobs.

We also provide admissions information at the Atlanta Alumni Center. Two full time admissions counselors are available there to answer questions about applying to UGA.

Our annual signature events keep us in touch with each other. The spring alumni awards luncheon recognizes the great work of our graduates and faculty. First Friday, in the fall, is our day-long celebration to kick off the new football season. Our Homecoming BBQ welcomes graduates back to campus and the Holiday Open House in December at historic Wray-Nicholson brings us together to celebrate the season.

Last March about 400 alumni and friends, including my son and me, participated in the inaugural Dawg Trot 5K, which will become an annual Alumni Association event.

Membership in the association also includes discounts to national theme parks, museums, hotels, businesses and a host of restaurants. Want to know more? Visit our Web site for more details, http://www.alumni.uga.edu/alumni, or call 800-606-8786.
