The UGA baseball team lost a tie-breaking third game in the College World Series to claim a runner-up finish to the 2008 season. It was the sixth-ranked Bulldogs’ third trip to Omaha in five years. The team beat top-ranked Miami and Stanford to reach the finals, pitted against eighth-ranked Fresno State. UGA won the first game of the series against Fresno, but lost the next two. The Bulldogs finished the season with an overall record of 45-25-1.
