Alumni may remember O’Malley’s on the river as a bar or a health club, but students entering medical school through the Medical College of Georgia/UGA Medical Partnership will likely know it as home. Crews have been restoring the building to serve as classroom space for the first class of students, who are expected to enter in 2010. The school eventually will be housed on the UGA Health Sciences Campus, the 58-acre site of the Navy Supply Corps School. Once the med students move to the new campus, the O’Malley’s building will be used as classrooms for other UGA departments.
