Jennifer Gainer is from
Savannah, Georgia. She graduated from the
University of Georgia in 2002 with a
Bachelor’s degree in International Business
and a minor in Spanish. Prior to
graduation, she spent the summer of 2000
studying at the University of Salamanca in
Spain where she lived with a Spanish family
and was immersed in both the Spanish
language and culture.
Her work experience began
with Ferguson Enterprises in Savannah where
she lived at the beach and sold plumbing
supplies, pipes, valves and fittings to both
residential and commercial contractors. A
board membership at a local non-profit
organization, however, inspired her to
pursue something different. After nearly
three years in Savannah, Jennifer moved to
Atlanta where she was employed by the United
Way of Metropolitan Atlanta. Initially
hired for the campaign season, Jennifer
extended her time with the United Way under
a contract working with the relocation and
resettlement of Hurricane Katrina evacuees
in the Atlanta area, a UWMA partnership
called Neighbors Helping Neighbors. She
concluded her time with the UWMA as an
Account Executive in Resource Development,
fundraising and coordinating workplace
campaigns within the insurance, investment
and business service industries.
Jennifer’s decision to earn
her MBA brings her back to Athens for a
second time (hooray!) and focused in
Marketing/Real Estate. As an 11-month
student, time is flying by – but in her
“spare time” she loves traveling, cooking,
playing tennis, and of course, Georgia
football!
