FRIENDS OF THE MUSEUM

Join the museum during one of the most exciting moments in its history! On March 3, 2009, the museum broke ground on its Phase II expansion and launched GMOA on the Move, a state- and nationwide initiative of offsite programs and exhibitions. The museum will reopen in early 2011 with a beautiful new addition that will include space for the continual display of its permanent collection, state-of-the-art storage facilities and administrative and library space to house the Pierre Daura Center, the Jacob Burns Foundation Archives, and the Henry D. Green Center for Decorative Arts.

Members will have the same great benefits as before and will also be the first to know about the museum's progress. As always, Friends of the Georgia Museum of Art will receive reduced admission rates to Friends events, a subscription to GMOA's quarterly newsletter, invitations to exhibition openings and programs, a 10 percent discount on items for sale in the new museum Web shop (now open!), reciprocal membership prices to over 50 museums in the U.S. and recognition in the museum's Annual Report and quarterly newsletter.

The Friends of the Georgia Museum of Art are responsible for much of the private support the museum needs to bring in high-caliber exhibitions and programming and are involved in every facet of the museum's activities: fund-raising, exhibition openings, acquisitions, educational programming and special events.
