We
adore you, O Christ, and we bless you.
Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
Jesus even experiences
our struggle to receive help. He is made to experience the poverty
of not being able to carry his burden alone. He enters into the experience
of all who must depend upon others to survive. He is deprived of
the satisfaction of carrying this burden on his own.
I'm too selfish, Jesus. I love myself too much. I don't love you enough. Particularly, I don't love my neighbor enough, especially if I don't like him. A cross is lighter when two carry it. Give me a great love for my neighbor, so that I will help him carry his crosses, by my kindness, in word and action. |
