Facilities at the State Botanical Garden

Beginning July 1, 2009, the rental office at The State Botanical Garden of Georgia will institute changes regarding its event booking policy. The window for reserving facilities will be extended from the current 12 months to18 months. Thus the office will begin accepting phone calls at 9:00 EST, July 1, 2009, for bookings through December 31, 2010. All facilities not reserved for Botanical Garden events will be available on a first-call, first-serve basis excepting UGA holidays when the Garden is closed. This new system will replace the present “lottery” system which requires clients be physically present the day of the lottery.

The Visitor Center is the focal point for an expanding Master Plan, containing rental, facilities management, education, and volunteer staff offices, classrooms, a small theater, gift shop, and café. The three-story conservatory features a permanent collection of species representing beneficial plants of the tropics, including some endangered species—a theme explored in many of the Garden's teaching, research and outreach activities.
