Students in a First-Year Odyssey course learned skills this semester that helped brighten the day of several local children. In the "Geeks with a Cause" class, students adapted toys for use by children with physical disabilities. "I've never been so proud in all my life," said Becky Brightwell of the Institute on Human Development and Disability.

GMOA to have “Gallery Games”
The Georgia Museum of Art will have a special event, “Gallery Games: Tall Tales,” Dec. 12 at 4:15 p.m. Children ages 7–11 are invited to join the museum staff for a special interactive gallery tour led by Callan Steinmann, associate curator of education.
Men’s basketball team to host Lipscomb
The men’s basketball team will play Lipscomb University Dec. 14 at 4 p.m. in Stegeman Coliseum. Tickets are $5 to $15.
AJC publisher, former dean to speak at Commencement
Amy Glennon, a University of Georgia alumna and first female publisher of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, will give the university's undergraduate Commencement address on Dec. 13 in Stegeman Coliseum. The ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the graduate ceremony to follow at 2:30 p.m. The university's graduate Commencement will feature E. Culpepper "Cully" Clark, who served as dean of the UGA Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication from 2006 to June of this year.
