Torre Lavelle, a 2015 Udall Scholar who is interning with the U.S. Department of State this semester, has traveled to six continents to study as a UGA student. But she still found time to lead a Girl Scout troop for low-income elementary students.
Kip Lacy, a senior majoring in ecology and biology, has a passion for research, specifically with fire ants, but sometimes that conflicts with his other passion: music.
Karishma Sriram, a senior majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology, says she is “beyond blessed” when describing her time at UGA, which has included travel around the world as a Foundation Fellow.
Colton Fowlkes, who is graduating this summer with degrees in biology and psychology, is thankful for his “well-rounded college experience” at UGA. He served as Hairy Dawg, was involved with UGA Miracle and guided tours around campus. Next up: making people smile as a dental professional.
Lindsey Cheek excelled on the UGA gymnastics team, but she also excels in the classroom. The triple major — microbiology, biology and psychology — has her sights set on becoming a doctor.
Not only has UGA provided Megan Mathews a successful path to obtain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, it’s also given her the chance to pursue her other passion: dancing.
